Welcome! Yes a great community is growing here. And if anything else it is great motivation to create and share. It can certainly be a source of distraction but also the positivity you gain is great for momentum and focus in its own way. Hope you find a place here :)

Hi Leeann, I noticed you liked one of my Prompt Poems and I wanted to drop in to thank you. Welcome to Substack! I recognised and sympathised with many of your thoughts in this piece, having joined only in January, and yes, it’s a strikingly friendly community of poets. I really like your poem here too. I look forward to reading more!

Congrats on your first post, LeeAnn! 🎉

And — as a fellow lover of punctuation — I cannot wait to read your semi-colon poem!

So happy to be here with you! And I never knew, all these years, that you loved jazz. Or at least, it escaped me. ❣️

Thanks for the links to those poems. I’ll explore further when I have more time this evening. I have a chapbook of punctuation poems coming out in a week or so. I’m very excited.

That was such fun what with its shape and lacking its important self. Since we are mutual subscribers, I thought I could save you some time and direct you to a couple of my poems that you might enjoy based on our mutual love of good grammar and trees. They are;

Perhaps you can direct me to specific poems of yours. I've also written about hemlocks, birches and fig trees because trees are my pals too.
