Thanks so much! And for your thoughts on why it's so hard to share sometimes with those closest to us. If they really saw me, would they still love me? Or feeling like I'm somehow a fraud and it's only a matter of time before they find out. Even after all this time, there's that nugget of fear.

What a fabulous ode and thanks for the tip on making coffee ice. I only have the one cup a day so it's got to be good.

Loved the poem!! Also, thanks for teaching me the word ekphrastic, I really want to use it somewhere now.

And well done on sharing your writing with others in your life!! It's not always easy to share such a big part of yourself like that. I had the same fear when I told others, which seems so silly because I'm closer to those people than others online, but I think it came from a place of not wanting to let them down, and not being able to run away if they didn't like it 😅

Leeann,

I love this poem. My expectations were of a poem about coffee, but it is more about living and not blocking this beautiful present we have been given - today.

PS - I’m enjoying a cup of coffee. ☕️

Thanks for sharing your poem about my (current) favorite mind altering substance.

Well I do drink a lot of espresso, but that first coffee is usually a cup of coffee ... with a shot of espresso!

Very Good, captures a great deal without any nonsense. I too am a coffee drinker. For many unfortunate years it picked me up off the floor and gave me a reason to rise. I am now fully caught up on your posts.

Love this! Shouldn't it be Ode to Espresso though?
